Small Business Saturday

The Greater Bakersfield Chamber, with support from American Express, is enhancing Small Business Saturday to promote year-round local shopping. Mayor Karen Goh emphasizes the importance for sustaining small businesses and investing in neighbors' livelihoods. The Chamber, now an "American Express Neighborhood Champion," provides resources to help small businesses thrive beyond the holiday season. Local shop owners, like Irene Clancy, highlight the personalized experiences and value local businesses offer. The campaign aims to track its economic impact through analytics and community engagement.

Holiday Home Tour

The Chez Noel holiday home tour in Bakersfield, organized by the Assistance League, will raise funds to provide clothing for underprivileged children in Kern County. Taking place on December 6 (Friday) and 7 (Saturday), the event showcases four decorated homes and features a vendor fair at the Bargain Box. The proceeds will support Operation School Bell, which provides clothing to over 3,000 children across 27 school districts. The event offers a festive way for the community to give back while enjoying holiday decorations and supporting a great cause. Teddy Bear Toss - Get your tickets

The Annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Bakersfield Condors game is this Saturday, 11/30! Bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal to toss on the rink! The bears are then donated to the United Way of Central Eastern California to be then donated to a variety of charities for children in need. A fun night to enjoy with family and friends!
