Brief Update…
Should California be a Country?
A proposed initiative in California seeks to make the state an independent country, requiring 546,651 signatures by July 22, 2025, to qualify for the 2028 ballot. While past attempts in other states have failed due to legal challenges, political analysts see this as a symbolic move rather than a realistic possibility. Experts suggest working with elected officials on key issues as a more effective way to drive change.

Over 9,000 scouts in Central California South kicked off cookie season, which runs through March 31. More than just a fundraiser, cookie sales teach girls leadership, business skills, and community service, with 100% of proceeds staying local. Scouts gain confidence, learn resilience, and support initiatives like STEM programs, outdoor adventures, and aid for foster children. Selling about a million boxes annually, the program helps young entrepreneurs grow while funding meaningful community projects.
