Brief Update…

Blood Donations Needed for LA

Houchin Community Blood Bank urgently seeks blood donations following a critical request from Los Angeles hospitals overwhelmed by burn victims and injuries from ongoing fires. Donations of all types are needed to meet growing demand. Houchin prioritizes local patients while aiding neighboring communities. Eligible donors can contribute and receive a Retro Houchin T-shirt as a thank-you. Visit hcbb.com or call 661-323-4222 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Various locations such as Onyx Aesthetics, Pizz-A-Perfection, Salty’s BBQ, and Lululemon are accepting donations.

Gov. Newsom’s Budget gets Criticized

Governor Gavin Newsom's $322.3 billion budget emphasizes fire prevention and forest management, allocating $81 million for fire prevention grants. Critics, including Rep. Vince Fong, argue funds should be redirected from the $912 million high-speed rail project to fire resources. Meanwhile, Los Angeles battles deadly fires amid resource shortages and recent fire department budget cuts. Newsom defends investments in green energy projects, while some lawmakers criticize Sacramento's priorities amid ongoing crises.

Monday Motivation

Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.
