Brief Update…
Christmas Tree Drop-Off
Kern County’s Christmas Tree Recycling Program runs from December 26, 2024, to January 6, 2025, offering three tree recycling options: cutting trees into small pieces for green waste containers, self-hauling whole trees to 23 drop-off sites, or composting at home. All trees must be free of decorations, stands, and flocking. Residents are advised to secure and tarp their loads when transporting trees. This program aims to prevent illegal dumping and improper recycling of Christmas trees. Flocked trees are not accepted. Check out the full list of locations here.

Lemon Law Updates
California’s 2025 Lemon Law changes tighten filing deadlines, eliminate used car protections, and require written notification to manufacturers before legal action, raising concerns they favor automakers over consumers. Claims must now be filed within one year after the warranty ends or six years after purchase.
