✈️Take Flight Program

The California Aeronautical University and Kern High School District launched the "Take Flight" program, allowing juniors and seniors to gain real-world aviation experience. Students receive 10 hours of flight education, including five loggable flight hours with a Certified Flight Instructor. The fully funded program covers aerodynamics, aviation safety, and air traffic control. With three sessions from February to May, it helps students explore aviation careers and prepare for flight tests. Applications are available on the Kern High School District’s ROC website.

👨🏻‍🏫Executive Order and the Impact on Education

Education Secretary Linda McMahon clarified that dismantling the Department of Education aims to improve efficiency by transferring oversight to other agencies while preserving key programs. She emphasized giving states greater control over federal funds to enhance local education. President Trump’s executive order seeks to reduce costs and shift decision-making to the state level.
