Brief Update
💰Taxes Due TOMORROW
April 15 is the deadline to file 2024 taxes, and delays can lead to penalties and interest. TurboTax warns that late filers face a 5–25% penalty on owed amounts. It is advised to file for an extension if needed. Many people owe taxes due to outdated W-4 forms, especially in dual-income households. Refunds depend on withholdings, not income.

🪪Real ID Deadline
Starting May 7, 2025, a Real ID will be required to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities. With the deadline nearing, California DMV offices are busy as residents rush to apply. Applicants need one proof of identity, two proofs of residency, and their Social Security number. Missing documents, like a marriage license for name changes, can delay the process. The DMV encourages online document uploads and appointment scheduling to save time at realid.dmv.ca.gov.
