Brief Update…

Bakersfield Landmarks for Sale

Bakersfield officials are considering purchasing two major properties—the Crystal Palace and the Bank of America office tower—to boost tourism and reduce municipal rental costs. The city sees the Crystal Palace as a cultural landmark worth preserving, while the office tower could prevent long-term vacancies and provide office space for city employees. The Crystal Palace has been for sale for months, while the office tower is not officially on the market. City officials argue the purchases could generate revenue and prevent urban decline.

Now you know…

Despite the stigma around workplace napping in the U.S., studies show short naps improve focus and productivity, leading some companies to offer nap spaces while workers find creative ways to rest. Experts recommend 15-30-minute naps, though cultural norms and workplace expectations still discourage the practice in many industries.
